Lawyer with a focus on contract and security law

The Swedish Mapping, Cadastral and Land Registration Authority (Lantmäteriet) is the authority responsible for mapping Sweden. Our tasks also include registering and securing ownership of all properties and managing their boundaries. We are now looking for someone with a strong commitment to society.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Lantmäteriet is strengthening its legal support and is looking for a lawyer with an interest in and experience working in the areas of general contract law, procurement, and security law.

Contract law includes general advice, problem-solving, drafting and reviewing various contracts and agreements for several parts of Lantmäteriet's operations. Closely related to this area is the need to have good knowledge of and readiness to assist with procurement law, competition law, and intellectual property law advice.

The work may also involve legal participation in development initiatives, project management, contract negotiations, etc. Security law may encompass issues related to total defense, preparedness, physical security, personnel security, as well as information and IT security.

In addition to the aforementioned legal areas, job responsibilities may involve solving joint authority issues related to referrals, legal investigations, governing documents, supervisory activities, compensation cases, and the authority's whistleblower function as well as data protection, transparency, and confidentiality, digitization, information and document management, etc.

The position entails a highly varied role in an organization of great importance to societal development work. You will contribute with legal considerations and guidance and be part of the authority's development by solving qualified legal challenges where there are not always given answers.

The position is located within the unit for Cross-Authority Law, which is one of five units within the legal operational area. The operational area, led by the Chief Legal Officer, is directly subordinate to the Director General and constitutes both the authority's central legal support and its supervisory area. The operational area has a very broad responsibility that includes all legal areas present at the authority.

Lantmäteriet's headquarters is located in Gävle. Regular physical presence and attendance at the headquarters when needed are required, which is why the location for this position is either Gävle, Stockholm, Uppsala, or other offices near the Gävle region. Travel in the role may occur.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a law degree or equivalent education that Lantmäteriet deems comparable. You have very good administrative law knowledge and several years of experience in qualified legal work in the public sector. You have extensive experience in legal work within the requested main areas of law. You have a good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English.

It is an advantage if you are a court clerk or have other court experience. Experience working with regulatory documents and governing documents as well as supervisory activities, compensation cases, and labor law is also meritorious, as is experience in data protection, transparency, confidentiality, digitization, and information and document management.

We place great emphasis on your personal qualities and see that you have excellent collaboration skills, as well as the ability to build relationships and communicate clearly. You need to be confident and able to prioritize, act, and remain calm when working under periods of time pressure. For the job responsibilities, the ability to quickly analyze complex and extensive information is also needed. You have a good ability to help others achieve results and move processes forward with a perspective that considers the best interests of the entire organization. You have a good ability to work independently and take responsibility for results of high quality. The public service value base and the role of a civil servant are self-evident for you, and you act accordingly.

The position is security classified, which means you must be a Swedish citizen and a successful security clearance is a prerequisite for employment. A probationary period applies.
